  1. This is a great story and very realistic. I could see this happening in today’s school. Students are faced with a lot of pressure. They have their parents telling them one thing, the school another and peers telling them yet another is right. I had a very positive experience as an adolescent in school and at home. I had a lot of friends however, who did not and I can see the lasting effects it’s had on them. Pressure can really take a toll on some one’s life. I am sure Clarissa’s parents wanted her to be happy and have fun. She longed to fit in and keep her popular boyfriend in love with her so she gave in and gave herself to him. This is a major issue that faces teen’s everyday. It’s hard to see clearly through the clouds of “love”. The pressure to fit in and do what you think is right is always present. I have two younger sisters and I would love to tell them everything I know now in hopes of preventing them from getting hurt. I have come to realize they must make their own mistakes and learn from them. The best way to learn is through experience, all I can do is guide them in the right direction and set a good example. However, I do hope and pray their mistakes are a bit smaller then Clarissa’s.
