Ideas for personal essay

One of the biggest issues today dealing with teenagers is sexual activity and teen pregnancy. Both those issues come up in articles, shows, movies, books etc. So I’m stuck in between both of those subjects and I need to narrow it down to one. But I do know I would like to talk about something controversial. I’m interested in those topics because they have, are and will always be issues among teenagers and adults. Parents look at sex one way and teens look at it another way. Pregnancy and sex are often avoided by parents thus leading teens only way to answer their questions with their curiosity. I’m not sure how I will talk to my son when its time to discuss sex but I will definitely talk about it. Come on people its just sex!!! Please do not misunderstand me, I am not condoning teenage sex but it is a part of life so stop running from the topic!!! Talk to your teenage children and teenage sisters and brothers. Answer the questions!! I think that a lot of teenage pregnancies could have been prevented if parents would have had enough courage to have the “talk”. Honestly, parents should be the biggest educators of sexually transmitted diseases and how to prevent them. I’m not sure how I will finally narrow down my topic. I do know I want to make an impact on the reader or readers of my essay (SHOUT OUT TO DR> WRIGHT LOL) I want to change the way teens and their parents look at teenage sex and pregnancy.
